Tips for Increasing Vapor Production from Your MOD

Having an increased amount of vapor is the sure way to get the most out of your vaping experience. To achieve this, your battery must be able to put out the required power safely and the only way it can do that is by using sub-ohms. Batteries also can only provide a safe amount of current. This is referred to as the amp limit. So, make sure that you are aware that if you intend to utilize a MOD that requires its own battery, ensure that its battery's amp limit is continuous.

For those of you who have a more regulated and modern MOD that comes with a battery built-in, then you can enjoy all the vape you want without worrying. With that said, here are a few tips for increasing vapor production from your MOD.

Higher Power = Higher Vapor Amount

When using a basic device, the user must be aware that the only type of atomizer they can use is one with higher resistance that sends a fixed voltage. Although this will allow an increased amount of vapor through your technique of pulling, there is nothing else that you will be able to do to improve it. On the other hand, there are many other devices that do have the capabilities to increase the amount of vapor.

Besides that, the minimum you should pay for a VV/VW MOD is $50 to achieve maximum vapor. But if you want to spend a little more, you will experience a vaping session like no other.

Purchase the Best Atomizer Possible

We cannot stress enough of how important your atomizer has to be for the production of vapor. Therefore, most vapers stick to the sub-ohm atomizer tanks because of their coils being low resistance; so, they can tolerate the increased power that the coil requires. The use of sub-ohm tanks will be your best bet.

The type of atomizer that you want to stay away from is the clearomizer. This is because you won't receive the desired amount of vapor that you are looking for. What it all boils down to is the fact that having an atomizer that is higher than CE5 is ideal for blowing the most clouds.

Keep Your Wattage High

Keeping your wattage high will produce a higher amount of vapor. This is because if you have a higher amount of electricity flowing through the coil, you will have a higher amount of liquid that gets vaporized, causing a higher amount of vapor to be produced.

You must be careful though or you will easily destroy the coils. To prevent any damage to your coils, start out on a low setting and increase it gradually until you reach a comfortable setting.

The reasoning behind the use of wattage versus voltage is because wattage is more widely used. Wattage also considers the amount of coil resistance and makes proper adjustments. This is good to know because if your voltage is the same for two coils, the performance will be different if the resistance is also different, but your wattage will give the same performance though.

Airflow Is Key

It is guaranteed that the more airflow you have, the more vapor you will create. If you have very low airflow, but are still able to obtain a lot of vapor, then you are likely running hot with a high amount of concentrate. This could create a very unpleasant experience. If you simply increase the airflow, you will instantly get more vapor as well as cool vapor, too. More importantly, you want your vape to be cool if you intend to use a higher wattage.

The point is to create a balance and finding your comfort zone. To find the balance you might want, to begin with, a warmer vapor created with a completely open airflow may not be a good choice. This could cause your cloud to appear weak. It could also cause the flavor to be reduced tremendously, but if you are not in it for the taste, then keeping your airflow wide open won't matter to you.

If anything else, while vaping it is important that you at least have an adjustable airflow setting for your atomizer. Today, many of the atomizers available have these settings, so being able to create a lot of vapor will no longer be a problem.

Keep Your Coils Last Longer with These 3 Methods

Coils play a vital role in enhancing your vaping experience. Once ramped up, the coils heat your e-liquid to produce vapor and flavor. Therefore, if you want to get the most out of your e-juice, your coils must be in proper shape. In a good amount of cases, you should change the coils every week or two. However, this is entirely up to you and how you take care of your coils.

You can lengthen the life of your them through the following 3 methods:

Priming Coils
Priming your coils is a clear-cut method of increasing the lifespan of them. Imagine that when you get that burnt hit from your old coils, your instinct is to change them and continue with your vaping session. The lack of patience is what will ruin your coils. If they are used before they are ready or expanded rapidly, they will give in too quickly. To avoid this, once you have screwed your new coils and put your wick in, ensure that you saturate the wicking material with your e-juice. Give the wicking material time to saturate and prime the coil before you can fill up your tank and begin vaping. Then, once you begin vaping, ensure that you take a few short hits, for at least the first few minutes. This will help the coil expand gradually and be ready for use. From there, you can vape as normal.

Go Slow on the VG
If you are into cloud chasing, a high VG ratio is a must-have. The high Vegetable Glycerine content is great on cloud chasing, but will not spare your coils. Vegetable Glycerine tends to be thicker than its counterpart, Propylene Glycol. As such, the coils will need to heat more to effectively vaporize the VG. Heating up your coils too much will cause them to thin out too quickly and give a burnt taste. Therefore, if the goal is to reduce the number of times you replace your coils, you have to choose an e-liquid that has lower VG concentration.

Don’t Take Dry Hits
Dry hits will blow your coils out before their due time. Avoid waiting until your tank is completely dry until you can refill with a new flavor. If you want to try a new flavor, simple pour out the old flavor, clean and dry the tank and coils, then add the new flavor. Also, don’t wait for your wick to dry out before changing it.

As you can see, lengthening the life of your coils requires that you take care of them. From the time you screw them to your atomizer through to the time you get rid of them. This will save you money in the replacement of coils. Also, you will enjoy an overall, flavorful vaping experience.

Vaping is gaining fast on traditional cigarettes

mmeehan1@herald-leader.comJanuary 4, 2015

There's a reason that vape was the Oxford English Dictionaries' Word of the Year. There is a lot of buzz about the newest tobacco delivery system.

In Kentucky, the Farm Bureau is talking about a tax on e-cigarettes, a Lexington researcher is trying to see whether they can really help people quit, and the Urban County Government has added e-cigarettes to its indoor smoking ban.

It's all part of the vaping trend — in which users inhale and exhale the vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device — that is causing a global stir.

Ex-Lung Association Chief Leases His Lungs to E-Cigarette Industry

'Science should triumph over opinion,' says past president of the American Lung Association

e-cigaretteSenators and state attorneys general are clamoring for the Food and Drug Administration to quickly restrict the sale of electronic cigarettes, but the past president of the American Lung Association, Charles Connor, says e-cigarettes may be "the breakthrough product" that stomps out carcinogen-packed conventional cigarettes.
Connor, president and CEO of the lung association from 2008 to 2012, joined the Electronic Cigarette Industry Group (ECIG) on Thursday as a paid consultant. He will serve as a conduit between public health experts, regulators and the booming industry, which will have an estimated $1.7 billion in U.S. sales this year.

Rush To Regulate Ecigs Could Destroy Effective Alternative

e-cigarettes
WASHINGTON, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire

Last week, several organizations sent a joint letter to the President, asking him to order the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to promptly assert authority over all tobacco products not currently under its jurisdiction.

The organizations imply that the delay is resulting in negative health consequences. However, they never mention any specific consequences, and for a good reason: They are proposing a "solution" where no problem exists. Instead, enacting regulations without sufficient scientific evidence has the potential to do a great deal of harm to public health.

The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA) is writing the president today to urge him to advise the FDA to take the time needed to develop science-based regulations that will serve the interests of public health. CASAA is a non-profit organization that works to ensure the availability of low-risk alternatives to smoking and to provide smokers and non-smokers alike with truthful information about such alternatives.

The Silent War Against Retail and E-cigarettes

e-cigarettes
Within the past six weeks, documents outlining New York City’s secret war against electronic tobacco were leaked to the public. The contents of the documents are hardly surprising given New York’s recent assault on items sold in convenience stores, fast-food restaurants and supermarkets.

The documents were leaked by the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA), an advocacy group aimed at raising awareness and protecting rights to access to reduced harm alternatives. What’s more, while tobacco and menthol flavored e-cigarettes would still be available in retail stores, all other flavored e-cigarettes could only be sold in age-restricted “tobacco bars.” Unfortunately,  New York City prohibits the operation of “tobacco bars” unless they were already in operation prior to  Dec. 31, 2001.

Cigarettes phase-out considered as trial tests if vapour safer

cigarettes
Getty Images
Australia could become the first major nation to outlaw smoking, with a federal government-funded trial about to test the viability of electronic cigarettes as a safer, permanent replacement for tobacco.

Medical experts, cancer groups and anti-smoking lobbyists battled for decades to rid cigarettes from public spaces.

''E-cigarettes'' are battery-powered devices that simulate the effects of smoking by heating a nicotine liquid into vapour, which the user then inhales and exhales.

While the gadgets have been hailed as a safer substitute for cigarettes, there is no comprehensive scientific research into the health risks of inhaling vapour.
The Sun-Herald can reveal that as part of its anti-smoking reform agenda, the previous Labor government committed more than $1 million to a pioneering study that, by 2015, will determine whether or not e-cigarettes could be utilised to phase out traditional cigarettes altogether.

Ecigarettes Trigger Big Sales and Lots of Questions

What started out as an online, underground fad is now a billion dollar business. Electronic cigarettes- often called ecigarettes, really aren't cigarettes at all because there's no tobacco, no flame and no smoke. But there are still a lot of questions about where they can be used and whether they pose a health risk.

ecigarettes
Esmokeronline store manager Dave Allen says ecigarettes are becoming so popular that his business, which began as an internet site being run out of a bedroom, now has two brick and mortar stores with plans to open a third. Ecigarettes are designed to look like cigarettes, but they’re electronic. When inhaled, they convert a nicotine laced liquid into a vapor that when exhaled looks like smoke. It’s called vaping.

The liquids come in dozens of flavors like watermelon, bubblegum and caramel.  The devices themselves come in all kinds of fashionable and customizable styles. You can choose from neon pinks and greens, goth designs, bling designs or even a wood-toned executive look.  Allen says all those choices bring customers in the door.

“Or you get a lot of people coming in to just ask about how to get started in this whole thing and how it can help them quit smoking,” he says. Cheryl, a customer who declined to give her last name,  says that’s what brought her in. A smoker of 40-years, she says nothing she’s tried has brought her even close to quitting. “Chantix, hypnotism, acupressure…. Let’s think, yeah, been there done that,” she says.

We are now featured on TheBestEcigs.net

Crystal Canyon Vapes is proud to be featured on The Best Ecigs

Finding the best electronic cigarette is only half of your journey to becoming a successful vaper. You will also need some high quality e-liquid (also called e-juice) to put in it. While most e-cigarette users will first use the bottle of basic liquid that came with their device, it is crucial to understand that there is a big difference between that basic e-liquid and highest quality American made e-liquid, and that the biggest difference is NOT the price, it is the taste and the overall satisfaction you get from using your electronic cigarette. Your e-juice flavor and vapor is 80% of your electronic cigarette experience. The more you enjoy the flavor, the more apt you are not to smoke cigarettes. E-juice is the most important part of vaping and can also be the most frustrating. Relax, your are in the right place. Buying the cheapest liquid for your e-cig is like buying the cheapest brand of cigarettes. Chances are you have tried smoking the cheapest pack of smokes at one time or another, but chose to buy the slightly more expensive name-brand because it had better flavor and taste….right? The same is true with the liquids you fill your e-cig with, the cheap ones taste cheap. Spend a $1 more and get some real flavor and satisfaction from your electronic cigarette. Why Buy American E-Liquid?We all know that the most all the electronics we buy are made in China and other foreign countries. Heck. even most of the electronic cigarettes we use are not made in the USA. Unfortunately, it comes down to simple economics. It is cheaper to make some products in China and ship them across the ocean than it is to make the same products here. However, when it comes to e-juice, you will be surprised to learn that even the best American made e-liquids are only a fraction more expensive than their imported counterparts.American made e-juice is also more popular than foreign e-juice because US vendors have more accountability and disclosure than the foreign e-liquid vendors are subject to. American vendors are out in the open and with social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and e-cigarette forums & blogs, they are extremely exposed to opinions and reviews from their critical and somewhat obsessed customer. They can’t afford to produce poor quality juices, they simply have to be the best and making quality e-juices. This social exposure eventually weeds-out the low quality vendors, leaving the best to vendors to thrive. And thrive these vendors do! These vendors below are the best-of-the-best in this industry.

Study supports e-cigarettes superiority over nicotine patches

Ground-breaking study supports e-cigarettes superiority over nicotine patches

Posted on by ACSH
stop smokingIn the first head-to-head comparison between e-cigarettes and nicotine patches (NRT) for helping smokers quit, a significant win for e-cigarettes was found in every measured parameter. Led by Dr. Chris Bullen of the University of Auckland, New Zealand, the researchers recruited 657 smokers who said that they wanted to quit. They were randomized into 3 groups: 289 into an e-cigarette group, 295 in the NRT group, and 73 into what they called a “placebo” group: zero-nicotine e-cigarettes. The selected marketed e-cigarette delivered a fairly low-level nicotine dose, 16 mg., while the NRTs were 21 mg. per daily patch. The study period was for 13 weeks, and the primary outcome measured was abstinence from tobacco confirmed by carbon monoxide breath testing at 6 months follow-up.

The results showed a clear win for the e-cigarette group, with 7.3 percent of that group smokefree, while the NRT group had a success rate of 5.8 percent (the placebo group had a 4.1 percent abstinence rate at 6 months). Due to the unexpectedly low success rate among the entire group, these results, while demonstrating a clear positive trend for e-cigarettes, did not achieve statistical significance. There was no advantage to any of these treatments in terms of adverse effects.

Another important finding was the likelihood of staying on the treatment throughout the study period,  even among those who did not quit completely, and the reduction of cigarette use in those non-quitters. Among those who had not managed to quit after six months, cigarette consumption was markedly reduced in the nicotine e-cigarettes group, compared to the patches and placebo groups: well over half (57%) of the participants in the e-cigarettes group had reduced their daily consumption of cigarettes by at least half after six months, compared to just over two fifths (41%) of the patches group.

In both the nicotine and placebo e-cigarettes groups, a third of participants were still using the devices after six months, compared to under one in ten (8%) of those in the patches group.  When asked whether they would recommend their allocated product to a friend one month after finishing the course, around 9 out of 10 participants in both the e-cigarettes and the placebo groups said they would, compared to just over half (56%) in the patches group.

E-cigarettes on the rise, but still unregulated!

Expert says e-cigarettes could be effective in quitting cigarettes or even more addictive, depending on how regulated

e-cigarettesTOPEKA — Four years ago, when Rick Hasan first started selling electronic cigarettes, they seemed destined to be little more than a novelty, he said — the same as compact pipes and other smoking accessories available at his store.
"People were curious, but few kept buying. They would go back to the real cigarette," said Hasan, owner of Payless Smokes, a convenience and tobacco shop in Topeka. Now, "the e-cigarettes are taking up quite a bit of market share."

These days, e-cigarettes account for 15 percent of his sales, he said. Nationwide e-cigarettes are booming, with annual sales projected to reach $1.7 billion by year’s end.

The battery-operated devices — which vaporize liquid containing nicotine — have yet to be regulated by the federal government, though officials have pledged for two years now that they ultimately will be.

Some employers penalizing workers for e-cigarette use?

Some employers penalizing workers for e-cigarette use

By Steven Ross Johnson

A growing number of employers, including UPS and Wal-Mart Stores, have decided that electronic cigarettes are an unhealthy habit rather than a stop-smoking tool and are imposing tobacco-use penalties on employees who use them.

Ivette Lopez, a spokeswoman for UPS, confirmed the company's health plan would begin charging a monthly fee of $150 in 2014 to employees who used tobacco products, including e-cigarettes that carry liquid nicotine.

“FDA testing has determined that various samples (of e-cigarettes) have carcinogens and other toxic chemicals,” Lopez said. “They're just not proven to be safe.”

Wal-Mart spokesman Randy Hargrove said the company considers e-cigarettes a form of tobacco use, and as such, charges employees who use them higher premiums than their nontobacco workers. “We have nontobacco and tobacco rights,” Hargrove said. He used the term “rights” for describing the two separate plans the company offers to tobacco and nontobacco users.

Hargrove declined to comment on how much more Wal-Mart employees who are tobacco users have to pay in premiums compared with nontobacco users. But some tobacco users around the country may pay as much as $2,000 a year extra because of the surcharge.

Employers that have such policies on e-cigarettes, including Wal-Mart, generally offer exemptions from the surcharge if workers participate in smoking cessation programs, but switching to e-cigarettes is not considered by these firms as participation in such programs.

The percentage of employers that have tacked a monthly surcharge on premium contributions for employees identified as tobacco users has increased from 35% in 2012 to 42% in 2013, according to an analysis conducted by the benefits consultant firm Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health. That analysis projected the rate to rise to 62% by 2014.

Tower Watson Senior Consultant Michael Wood said he has advised clients who have asked what stand they should take on e-cigarettes to include them among products considered to be tobacco use.

“E-cigarettes have not been tested for safety,” Wood said. “Nobody knows what the ingredients really are and they have not been approved as a recognized and safe method for cessation like nicotine replacement therapy patches have or nicotine gum.”

Wood said no data have been collected yet on the number of companies deciding to include e-cigarette users among those hit with the premium surcharge. But he found among his clients that the initial reaction was in favor of penalizing them.

“They're just too many question marks about (e-cigarettes),” Wood said. “And if they're being manufactured by tobacco companies, they don't exactly have a stalwart track record of being forthcoming about what's exactly in their products.”

Employers application of surcharges to e-cigarette users is challenged by those who say standard cigarette smokers have been able to quit smoking through the use of e-cigarettes, which they claim are free of the harmful health effects of standard cigarettes.

“This is basically what I would call a harm reduction strategy,” said Michael Siegel, a public health professor at Boston University. He compared the use of e-cigarettes to help smokers quit tobacco with using methadone to wean addicts off heroin. “The whole idea of harm reduction is when you have a product that is not safe, but is a lot safer than the drug that's being used.”

Despite such claims, Helen Darling, president of the National Business Group on Health, said using e-cigarettes is still tobacco use and should be treated as such by employers. “Somebody could say if they smoked six cigarettes a day instead of 25 or 30, because they're smoking less and they're using it to taper down, they should not be penalized for using tobacco,” Darling said. “It's the same principle.”

The Food and Drug Administration is expected to come out with a proposed set of regulations on e-cigarettes in October. If the agency labels use of e-cigarettes as “tobacco use,” it could open the door for health insurers under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to charge users up to premiums as much as 50% higher than non-smokers.

E-cigarettes could significantly cut tobacco use: Study

e-cigarettes

A new study being published in theAmerican Journal of Health Behaviorsuggests that electronic cigarettes might encourage hard-core tobacco puffers to significantly cut back on traditional cigarettes, even when they say they don't want to.
The pilot study found that of 28 adult smokers—none of whom were interested in quitting—25, or nearly 90 percent, reduced their use of tobacco cigarettes during a week in which they smoked e-cigarettes from leading maker NJOY.

E-cigarettes: What’s Not to Like?

Aug 21, 2013 by
E-cigarettesMany anti-smoking advocates have argued that electronic cigarettes don’t help smokers quit but merely prolong their addiction to nicotine. In other words, the hundreds of thousands of electronic cigarette users in the United States are smokers who, if only they stopped using e-cigarettes, would successfully quit smoking.
This is a ridiculous argument and those advancing it are not living in reality. The truth is that only 3 percent of smokers who want to quit will do so successfully in any given year. Thus, the vast majority of smokers who try to quit using electronic cigarettes are people who would not have otherwise quit.

Are eLiquids Getting Better? Absolutely!

Aug 17, 2013 by

eliquids

One of the universal truths about the evolution of things is that, on the whole, they improve. There might be wrong turns, mistakes, and things like that, but eventually they right themselves and get better. This began to happen in early 2012 and it is happening in 2013… in the eLiquids marketplace.
If you compare the eLiquid marketplace from just a year ago to today’s marketplace you’ll not only notice a lot more brands of eLiquids, you’ll notice that nearly all eLiquids are getting better; better tasting, better vapor production, better everything. The chances of finding several flavors of eLiquid that you love to vape are exponentially easier than it was a year ago.
Why? What has changed?

eLiquids – Evolution

Just a handful of years ago the people involved in making eLiquids for e-cigarettes knew little about how all the ingredients interacted with one another. They knew that combining Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, nicotine, and water/alcohol/mysterious-X, that it would produce thick vapor clouds laced with flavor that was basically harmless to inhale. Just how much did they really know in the beginning of it all? Compared to today, not much.

Restaurants, bar owners allow diners to smoke electronic cigarettes

Aug 15, 2013 by
cigarettesOnce again diners are smoking cigarettes in restaurant dining rooms and around bars.
In a day and age of anti-smoking campaigns, the whole idea of smokers lighting up in public places seems completely out of place.
A few months ago when a diner lit up a cigarette at Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar, a bartender immediately told them to snuff it out, said co-owner Gary Huether, Jr.
Only it turned out the person wasn't smoking a conventional cigarette, it was an electronic cigarette. While at first the idea of the devices created some confusion, patrons at the chain's restaurants are now permitted to smoke the cigarettes, also known as e-cigarettes.
"It's not like it's bothersome to people. It doesn't smell. It doesn't bother anyone," Huether said.
In fact, he is considering selling the cigarettes in vending machines in the sports bars as test-run to see how well the devices sell.
Increasingly, smokers are putting out their Marlboros and Camels in favor of battery-fueled, rechargeable electronic cigarettes with names such as Smoke Stick and V2 Cigs.

e-Cigarettes: Electronic cigarette business is smoking

Aug 13, 2013 by
e-cigarettesCigarettes still satisfy a lot of smokers, but after years of doctors’ warnings and countless dollars spent on packs or cartons, some are ready for a change. What they’ve found is a cheaper alternative that’s giving the cigarette something to smolder about.
Patrick Gleason, owner of Three Days Smoke Shop in Gates andThree Days Vapor Lounge in Greece, said electronic cigarettes are becoming more popular among smokers trying to kick the habit. E-cigarettes use a battery-powered heating element and flavored “e-juice” laced with nicotine to create an inhalable water vapor that looks and feels like smoke.
